Once it is downloaded on your Kindle, you should be able to access it by clicking the OverDrive app icon on your home screen. Click on Quick Settings, and then tap Sync. Take your Kindle and swipe down from the top of the screen to see Quick Settings. You need to be connected wirelessly in order to do this. If you downloaded it on your computer, you need to sync it with your Kindle.Click install and wait for the application to install on your Kindle or computer.
Search for the OverDrive application in the search bar at the top. An icon for the Appstore will on the home screen of your Kindle. The Appstore will already be loaded onto your Kindle. On your computer, you can access the Appstore by going to Amazon's website and downloading the Appstore onto your computer. Go to the Amazon Appstore on your computer or Kindle. This is the easy part, but it requires a few steps before you can download it. To recap, the OverDrive application allows users to digitally check out eBooks from their local libraries. If you are not given this option when borrowing an ebook, tap the three lines in the footer to access the menu and select Settings, then choose Read Books With…įor additional resources, visit the OverDrive app. Select Kindle and follow steps 6 through 8 above. When borrowing your first title in the app, you will be prompted to choose where you would like to read the ebook, Kindle or Libby. If you do not have a Wi-Fi connection, follow the instructions at OverDrive Help for how to transfer library Kindle books via USB.įollow the instructions for getting started with Libby. Your ebook is delivered by Wi-Fi to your Kindle and works like any other Kindle book. Select Get Library Book on the right side of the page. Sign in to your Amazon account and select your Kindle’s name from the menu. You’ll be taken to Amazon’s website to complete your checkout. You can see all of your library’s Kindle Books by selecting the Kindle Books link near the top of the site.
